Subject outline
The subject builds on the student's operational and management skills developed in the first year of the program. The student is provided with an opportunity to develop sound hospitality management principles through a structured industry placement program. Practical organisational management principles are applied to the specialist areas of hospitality and tourism. Topics include principles of hospitality management, planning and establishment of systems and procedures, implementation of health, safety and security procedures, development of operational plans, the management of workplace relations, leadership and people management.
